Last Thursday, September 8th, we were invited to the fantastic residence of the Spanish ambassador in Helsinki, Villa Himberg, to take part in a conversation with the Finnish designer Timo Salli.
Design Diplomacy connects a unique setting with a relaxed conversation, creating meaningful international connections between the embassies, design professionals and the audience. In 2022 we celebrate the opportunity to meet face to face again.

VALENCIA PAVILLION. THE FUTURE IS DESIGN
The first exhibition of Valencia World Design Capital 2022: “Valencia Pavillon. The future is design" highlights the value of Valencian design. We will be presenting Metrópolis in the “the border between art and design” category.
From 9 February and until 14 March, the exhibition will occupy the Chapel Hall of the Fernán Gómez Cultural Centre, at Plaza de Colón in Madrid.
REDESIGNING TOMORROW
Redesigning Tomorrow, the documentary by Pedro Aguilera for IKEA, will release next February 4, at the Madrid Design Festival. The documentary brings together great world thinkers to investigate and reflect on a way to rethink the world starting from multidisciplinary approaches.
Afterwards, there will be talks, lectures and round table discussions on topics related to design and future. We participate as speaker talking about ecodesign.
EXTRAPERLO
We will soon take part in Extraperlo, an exhibition that aims to challenge the systems, structures and codes that govern contemporary design.
We have collaborated with Ana Domínguez Siemens in an experiment in which Canoa Lab and Adriana Cabello had to create our family Sunday breakfast set just through a voice message.

We are happy to announce that our project “Another Nature” will be part of a virtual design exhibition organized by Adorno for the London Design Festival 2020.
Working with Adorno’s roster of international curators from design scenes across the globe, Adorno will present fourteen country pavilions virtually during the event. The very best furniture, textiles, ceramics, sculpture and design-art will be showcased in easily accessible immersive environments.
The exhibition will take place from 12 to 20 September 2020.
VALENCIAN DESIGN (2009-2019). PRODUCTS FOR A GLOBAL WORLD
We will be part of “Valencian Design (2009-2019). Products for a global world”. Our projects Parrots Party, Bob, Sentat and Ofantlig is part of the project selection featured.
The exhibition outlines a walkthrough of product design in Valencia from 2009 until the present by means of a carefully chosen selection of around 170 works that mirror the complexity and experimental or innovative value of this field of design.
The exhibition will be hold at IVAM Alcoi, from the 18th of September 2020 till the 18th of April 2021. Do not miss it!

RADO STAR PRIZE SPAIN 2020
It is an honour for us to be part of the jury of the Rado Star Prize 2020, once again.
In its third year and with the theme Feel the Future, this competition has sought designs that use old or new materials and make the most of craftsmanship to portray their view of the future.
The winner and finalists will be displaying their concepts at Madrid Design Festival from February 12 to 15th.
GAN RUGS
We are very happy to announce our first collaboration with Gan Rugs.
Inspired by the shared common Mediterranean roots that we have, the four kilim models that compose the ROOTS collection have been handwoven from natural jute and cotton. Each piece features a subtle weave construction with square patterns that are repeated in different scales and rhythms to highlight the hard-working of weavers and symbolize a return to the essential. The kilims are complemented two fun stools that are available in two versions and come with a structure made of acacia wood.
The collections will be on display in its showroom, on February, during Madrid Design Festival.

FOLLOWME AT BARCELONA DESIGN MUSEUM
The Museum of Design in Barcelona adds our lamp FOLLOWME to its permanent exhibition on product design. The collection displays objects that represent the most significant design stages in our land, from 1930 through to the present.

The Choiseul 100 Spain is an annual study independently carried out by the Institut Choiseul. It identifies and ranks the young Spanish leaders of 42 years old and below, who will play a major role in the country development in the near future.
inHAUS LAB AWARDS
We have been selected to be part of the jury of the international competition “inHAUS LAB – Design your modular house” in its third edition.
This competition is an initiative of Casas inHAUS that was created to promote creativity and innovation in Architecture. It aims to promote new ways of doing architecture among students and recent graduates from all architecture colleges and other related disciplines, rewarding those who stand out for their creativity in the search for new modular housing solutions.

THE ROLE OF DESIGN IN THE EUROPEAN REINDUSTRIALIZATION
Next Tuesday, 26th Jun, we will be attending a meeting at the European Parliament in Brussels to work on the role of design in the European reindustrialization.

WORKSHOP
During Madrid Design Festival, we have been leading an IKEA design workshop. During five hours, the participants were learning how to create quick mock-ups with the only use of grey cardboard and white glue. A technic that we use very often in the studio to help visualizing first ideas.
DOPPIA FIRMA
Our studio has been invited to take part of the next edition of the Doppia Firma Project. This is a project that brings together European design innovation and the tradition of great artisanship by creating a unique collection of original, refined objects. The aim is to give birth to new artworks that arise from a cross-fertilization of a design culture open to contemporary vision and a savoir-faire that is a genuine expression of territorial uniqueness.
COOPERATION WITH KRION
One more year, our studio has been leading a project in the Master of Product Design of the CEU University. This time the students had to develop a project with the only condition of using as a material the Solid Surface KRION of PORCELANOSA. We had the all the support of the company who accompanied the students in the whole process of development of the projects.
MASTERCLASS
This past June, within the framework of the Barcelona Design Week, Nani Marquina and Inma BerMúdez offered a masterclass in which they shared their different visions regarding design processes: craftsmanship versus industrial production.

WORKSHOP
Last May, our studio led a three days workshop in the CEU University. The students had to build a toy with limitations like material, time and process of production. We are proud to say that they all had succeeded very well the assignment.

The ROJO exhibition
The ROJO exhibition puts the most representative pieces of contemporary Spanish design on show. They are objects that have been conceived, devised and produced entirely in Spain and are now celebrated examples within the international habitat-design panorama.

Rosa Lladró, CEO of the long established Spanish porcelain manufactory Lladró, invites you to a talk along with Inma Bermudez and Susana Rodriguez, two of the leading designers in the company. Rosa Lladró describes the core aspects of the firm’s sixty years of success and talks about the challenge of making handcrafted porcelain in the twenty-first century. The designer Inma Bermudez shows her current collections and how the design factor influences their market positioning. With reference to
the Lladró ideas laboratory, the talk will demonstrate how design partnerships – for instance with Jaime Hayon – enhance brand development.

Belle de Nuit Collection at the Euroluce
Lladró will be exhibiting its Belle de Nuit Collection at the Euroluce, the International Lighting Ehxibition in Milan. A new line of ceiling, tabletop and wall lamp decorated in a striking palette of colours designed by Inma Bermúdez alongside the internal design department of Lladró.

Desigñ. Spanish accent in design
The exhibition: “Desigñ. Spanish accent in design” arrives at Cervantes Institute Dublin with the objective of giving Spanish design its rightful place.
Spanish design is currently at its best with numerous internationally recognised creations and brand names.
This exhibition comprises 100 posters that include work of various design disciplines such as graphic, furniture, industrial and interior design. Including some products designed by Inma Bermúdez.
After Dublin, the exhibition will be shown in other different Cervantes Institutes from all over the world.
LILLÅNGEN family, Award of “BEST BATHROOM PRODUCT” of 2012
The LILLÅNGEN family, received the Award of “BEST BATHROOM PRODUCT" of 2012, from the Elle Interiör, the Swedish edition of the Elle Decoration magazine.
The event took part in the Operakällaren, Stockholm. In the morning there was a breakfast presenting the winners to the Swedish press. Early in the afternoon, the international press attended the presentation of all the different design and designers awarded from the thirteen categories. And the beautiful ceremony took part in the evening, having as guests of honour the Princess Christina and the French designer Inga Sempé.
All winners will be among the finalists in the Elle Deco International Design Awards. The candidates for the international final are chosen by the different editions of Elle Decoration worldwide, and the results of the final will be announced at the Milan Furniture Fair in April.

INDITEC is a meeting that began in 2003 with the aim of developing common ground between different actors of innovation around the design, the business environment, management and communication.
Inma Bermúdez is one of the designers invited to the 6th Edition that will take part during the Fair Fimma-Maderalia (25th – 28th of October) in Valencia. III Festival of Contemporary Spanish Design in Moscow
The new collection METROPOLIS (Lladró) was presented at the III Festival of Contemporary Spanish Design in Moscow.
Inma Bermúdez, one of the designers of the collection, offered a master class to a numerous public longing to know all details of this collection.
Democratic IKEA DESIGN
IKEA in collaboration with La Central de Diseño / DIMAD, has organized the exhibition “Democratic IKEA DESIGN”. The IKEA product exhibition, celebrates the 15 years in Spain, which aims to pay tribute to IKEA’s designs that have been provided to all people.
I have been invited to the inauguration. During two days I will explain to more than sixty journalist specialized in interior design and decoration from the different magazines and blogs, as well as a big group of students, how is to develop products for IKEA.
The exhibition will be open from the 13th until the 29th of May at the Matadero Arts Center in Madrid (Pza. de Legazpi, 8 / Paseo de La Chopera, 14)
